Butterfly pea flower, officially known as Clitoria ternatea, comes from Southeast Asia and is revered as a holy flower in India. It is used in traditional medicine and also in the culinary world as a natural food coloring agent.
The extract changes from blue to purple when mixed with an acidic ingredient like lime juice.

First, let me say I have not tried this, it looks fabulous but I ordered as a gift. The first box arrived and when I opened it a blue, sticky substance was leaking :( BUT kuddos to Mixologer, they quickly replaced everything even though it was just one bottle that had leaked-much appreciated, super excited to give this my daughter for her birthday, Thanks so much!
